Caring for the Fatherless

As a pastor or church leader, you recognize that caring for the orphan is clearly biblical and much needed, but the challenge is in knowing where to begin. For those who do not feel called to adoption or foster parenting, the opportunities to fulfill the biblical mandate of caring for the most vulnerable in our society can seem few and far between. Below are three areas you can help your church engage in meaningful orphan and foster care ministry.

I support ABCH because I believe that they meet the needs of those who are hurting and helpless. They minister to children and families in times of crisis and give aid that might otherwise not be found.

PRAY. SERVE. GIVE.

3 Ways to Bring Hope.

There are so many ways to help foster children and hurting families in Alabama. Below are three steps you can take today!

Pray

Prayer magnets. Daily ways to pray. Monthly Prayer Partners. Your prayers make a difference in the lives of children and families. Visit below to view or request these free resources and find specific ways you and your church can pray.

Serve

Babysit. Tutor. Volunteer for a Serve Day. Conduct a Needs List Drive. Not everyone is called to become a foster parent, but everyone can help. Together, we can partner in the work the Lord is doing to help children and families.

Give

Annual Offering. Budgeted church giving. Giving Tuesday. Day One Initiative. Stand Sunday. We invest $50 a day for each child in our foster care ministry. This can include clothes, food, a safe and loving home, and more. Ways to help engage your church in giving, including a guide, bulletin inserts, and videos.
