David George

A native of Birmingham, David met his wife of 40 years, Allyson, while at Samford University. After retiring from his position as President of the Woman’s Missionary Union Foundation in 2023, David invests his time and energy in his church (Shades Crest Baptist), as a mentor in a local school-based ministry (Discovery Clubs), on the Board of the Alzheimer’s Association of Alabama, and provides free consulting to a variety of international ministries he supports. He also coordinates a Sunday worship service at a residential dementia facility. David & Allyson have two adult children Kyle George (Lynne), Katelyn Bruhn (Mitchell) and two grandsons Grayson & Graham George.
