Volunteer with us

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries! Volunteers are a vital part of our ministry, and we are always encouraged to see individuals, churches, small groups, schools, business groups, and others, who are interested in partnering with us in the work the Lord is doing through our ministry to help children and families across Alabama.

Listed below are current volunteer opportunities within our ministry.

Auburn/Opelika

OPPORTUNITIES COULD INCLUDE:

  • Foster care babysitting

  • Supervise family visits

  • Providing meals

  • Seasonal organization

  • Host a supplies drive for current needs


Birmingham

Opportunities could include:

Indirect care

  • Once a month, groups to supply either box dinners or frozen dinners for Family Care families

  • Camp of Champions Volunteer

  • Christmas gift wrapper

Direct Care

  • Big Kid, Little Kid Mentoring

  • One-on-One Mom Mentoring

  • Family Care babysitting, and/or Foster Care babysitting


DECATUR

Opportunities could include:

  • Foster Care babysitting

  • Provide a meal. Basic meals are better. (feed 12 people)


OXFORD

Opportunities could include:

  • General lawn care

  • Skilled Labor (experience required; supplies are provided)

  • Seasonal needs (Open house decorations, helping with mailings occasionally, helping sort Christmas gifts, wrapping Christmas gifts, and more)

  • Ongoing needs: "Jehovah's Closet" — donation organization and storage (need people at minimum twice a month, so this can be split up between groups) and providing meals for Friendship House


DOTHAN

OPPORTUNITIES COULD INCLUDE:

  • Foster care babysitting

  • Skills mentoring for young adults

  • Delivering meals to campus

  • General outdoor cleaning

  • General lawn care

  • Sponsor a meal for TIPS Foster Care training class


MOBILE

Opportunities could include:

  • Provide a meal

  • Bring a work crew to campus (general lawn care/home maintenance)

  • Offer skill-specific help as needs arise (contractors and sub-contractors)

  • Provide car maintenance for our moms in Family Care


ALL AREAS

FOSTER CARE AND RESPITE CARE

Trainings are offered at different times throughout the year to learn more about becoming a foster parent or respite care provider. Visit our Next Training page for information about future classes and the contact person in your area.

CAMP OF CHAMPIONS

Camp of Champions is an event unique to our ministry! This time in June is special for the kids in our care, refreshing for parents, and a blessing for our staff. Contact us to learn more about specific volunteer needs.
