Camp 2023
On June 2–4, we held our annual Camp of Champions. 260 foster parents and 428 kids were in attendance. It was an incredible weekend!
For three days, kids laughed, played, and made amazing memories to last a lifetime. Kids got to just be kids—some for the first time in their lives.
For three days, foster parents formed a community, shared each other’s burdens, and came away united and renewed in God’s calling to care for hurting children.
Most importantly, for three days, foster parents were refreshed by the Holy Spirit and kids encountered the love of Christ. Four prayed to receive Christ!
This weekend would not have been possible without your prayers, gifts, and service.
More than 240 volunteers served at camp, helping transport families around camp on golf carts, made crafts with kids, and comforted crying babies. Cheryl Goss, a volunteer this year, shared her experience of the weekend:
“I was able to meet the children and hear parts of their stories. Needless to say, I shed a lot of tears driving that golf cart but was so encouraged by the hearts of these people. I heard stories of heartbreak but also heard stories of adoptions, beautiful relationships forming with foster families, and relationships with the biological parents of the kids in foster care.”
Thank you to everyone who prayed, served, and gave toward camp to help Alabama foster kids make incredible memories! To learn more about Camp of Champions and other volunteer opportunities, visit here.
