Employee Spotlight: Bailey Jennings
Meet Bailey Jennings! She’s worked at ABCH for three years as a Foster Care Social Worker in Montgomery. Learn more about her below and why she is passionate about helping kids and families:
What led you to ABCH?
The Lord! I have always had a passion for serving kids who are vulnerable, fatherless, and who feel unloved. Romans 9:25! I had multiple friends and family members send me the job opening to ABCH, but I was convinced it would lead me to move to Mobile, which was not what I felt led to do at the moment. I finally checked the job listing by the fifth person, sent in my application, and the rest is history!
Why are you passionate about helping children and families from hard places?
I believe as a servant of the Lord, my calling is to make sure every child and person knows they are loved and belong to the Kingdom of heaven. I have the beautiful opportunity to do this through the work at ABCH - I ensure children are loved and led to Christ while getting to pour into the families, foster and birth alike.
How has serving at ABCH been a blessing to you?
I have had the blessing of seeing children give their lives to Christ, birth families return to their faith, and beautiful family unifications. I also have an amazing support system of my co-workers & organization!
Could you share one or more of favorite memories as an employee of ABCH?
One of my favorite memories while working with ABCH has been building relationships with the foster families, the birth families, and all my little nuggets. I have been able to create a relationship and support system for one of our birth mothers who was reunified with her children. This mother continues to attend church with the foster family and we continue to love her kiddos! My heart is so full every day I go to work and get to pour into others.
Are there any additional things you would like to share?
Being a social worker with ABCH is a true dream job for me - I am constantly supported, encouraged, and prayed for by my organization and families. I also have the unique opportunity to point my clients and families to Christ, which is what gets me through the hard days!
