2022: Generations Forever Changed

As I look back on the past year, I’ve seen the countless ways God changed the lives of foster kids. These kids come into foster care feeling scared, alone, and unsure of what tomorrow brings— but supporters like donors, volunteers, church and business partners across Alabama were with them from day one, every step of the way.

Because of the time, prayer, and resources they provided, the children in our care no longer worry about their next meal. They no longer live in fear of abuse or neglect.

Foster kids had a place to laugh, play, and have fun. Some for the first time in their lives, experienced hope this year.

Tyler* came into foster care at 3 years old not knowing how to speak—he didn’t know how to say his own name. He was angry, confused, and often became physically violent.

He received the support he needed to learn how to talk through speech therapy while being in a consistent, loving home. Now, he is a chatty and thriving 4-year-old.

In 2022, many kids, like Branee, saw their dreams coming true.

Growing up, Branee’s father was in and out of her life. Her mother was addicted to drugs and alcohol, causing strokes and other medical issues.

When Branee came into our care during her sophomore year of high school, she had attended 19 schools and was in and out of shelters and foster homes. She hoped to go to college one day, but never knew if that dream could become a reality.

Now, she has graduated high school and is attending UAB this year to become a nurse—with all her college expenses paid in full because of you.

Tyler and Branee are just two of the hundreds of foster kids impacted in 2022.  Each one of those children had a safe, secure place to call home. Most importantly, they experienced hope and healing in Jesus Christ.

Thank you to all of our donors, volunteers, church and business partners. I have a great depth of gratitude for you and the life-changing gifts you gave foster kids across Alabama in 2022. I cannot wait to see how God will impact foster kids not only in 2023 but in generations to come.

Blessings,
