Campus Care Highlights

Life in our campus homes across the state has been full of activity! In addition to keeping up with the regular activities in our campus homes like family devotions, school work, and chores, our house parents and children have stayed busy this year with extracurricular activities, outdoor fun, and developing life skills.

We hope you’ll enjoy reading below about some of the things you’ve helped make possible through your generous giving so far in 2021.

Academic and Athletic Excellence in Decatur

A girl on our Decatur campus received the Student of the Month award, while one of our teen boys made the semifinals at the Decatur Invitational Tennis Tournament! We are so proud of their hard work and dedication.

Firsts in Dothan

One of our young men recently passed his driving test, and we also had a young man learn how to ride a bike for the first time this month. Early in 2021, the kids took a trip to Robert A. Fowler Park in Geneva, where they explored and saw the oldest living tree in Alabama. And this month, one of our children in care will be going to the beach for the first time during Spring Break, while several other kids will take their first fishing trip.

Quality Time Together in Mobile

Our kids in Mobile were able to visit the local zoo. Some of the girls had never been and were so excited to see all of the animals in person! The boys on campus got to visit Rose Creek Farm in Lucedale, Mississippi. They had a blast riding a tractor and holding baby goats. One of our boys made his school’s soccer team, and he has really enjoyed being part of a team! He feels so much support when his cottage comes to cheer him on.

Outdoor Activities in Oxford

The Friendship House enjoyed the great weather at the end of February and got to go for a nice bike ride at Chocolocco Park. Two of our teenaged boys are competing in Outdoor Track and Field after having a great indoor season in the fall. One of these boys even won a top award in his cross country division!

Thanks to donors like you, every day, our kids in care receive love, nurture, and support. In addition to meeting their basic needs, our parents invest in the lives of our children spiritually and emotionally.

In daily activities like cheering them on in sports and teaching them how to drive or prepare meals, they are also looking for, and taking, opportunities to point them to Jesus Christ, the true giver and sustainer of joyful, abundant life. Last year, 15 children in our care made professions of faith in Him!

The everyday activities shared here so far in 2021 may seem ordinary, but for kids from hard places, they mean a great deal. Your financial gifts and prayers are impacting a generation of young lives every day, and we are so grateful for your support.

Join with us in praying today for every child in our care and those who will be in our care. Pray that God would bring hope and healing for them and their families. Pray for those in our care who have not accepted Christ, and for spiritual growth in ones who have. Pray that as they see the gospel lived out and hear the gospel shared, that the seeds being planted would find fertile soil to grow.
